I came across the article below looking at the optimal number of sets, reps, intensity/volume and type of exercises to improve strength. What caught my attention was a study published in the Medicine and Science in Sports & Exercise that looked at number of sets to improve strength. Although, I haven't had a moment to read the study, the article concluded that the study's take away was doing more sets (w/o overload) made the workout longer but didn't increase more strength than doing a single set 3x a week for 8 weeks. What do you think?
