Hi there! As you can see, I am part of the admin team at My Wellness School as a "Peer Supporter". We help make sure My Wellnes School works well for the entire community. I would like to officially welcome you to our community, and let me start by saying a few words about myself.
My name is Dipa and I am currently a Professor, Bioscience in the Faculty of Health Science and Wellness at Humber College. I teach students in all areas of human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, at the college and university level. My background is a PhD in Neuroscience from McMaster. I studied the pathophysiology, and following from that, better treatment approaches to various conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and schizophrenia. I have worked for various non-profit organizations to enhance scientific research and public knowledge about brain disorders. Currently though, I teach full-time, and love it!
Other than having a passion for science, I also love cooking!! (Which I guess is also a type of science!). So I love sharing and learning healthy recipes, that pack a flavour punch!
From a wellness perspective, I enjoy meditating, yoga, nature walks, and love doing cardio exercises (e.g.: zumba, kickboxing, swimming etc.). I cannot wait to meet members of the community and learning more about health and wellness from everyone here!
